Social Media Network, Amelia Island, Florida
Amelia Island Living eMagazine has developed a sister-site, a social media network with interactive features. If you don't know what a social network is, think of FACEBOOK, an example of one of the most popular social networks online.

Amelia Island Living's social network is hyper-local, developed to connect folks who love to visit Amelia Island, who may be thinking about moving to the area, or those already living here. You can join, add short comments to your page, post questions in the discussion/forum, browse or upload photos, "friend" people, and much more.

Simply create your free membership to start interacting with the Amelia Island Living community. You'll get your own page in the network, you can create your own blog -- it's all free. Create your custom page and invite your friends and associates to check it out!  Do you TWEET?  The network has a Twitter app so you can feed your TWEETS to your page in Amelia Island Living's Social Network.  (You can follow us on Twitter, too (user name FLORIDA32034, see Amelia Island Living's Twitter page now).

See large photo gallery with 300-plus images reflecting the beauty of Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach....have a great shot of Amelia Island?  You're invited to upload your photos to share with the community. Watch videos relating to the Amelia Island area (you can also upload your videos), read Amelia Island Living's blog -- add your comments, or start a blog. Tell friends to join!

RSS FEEDS DISTRIBUTE NETWORK CONTENT

With the network's RSS feed capabilities, your blog (and your photos or videos) will be RSS feed capable, so with Amelia Island Living's network, you get a distribution channel for your northeast Florida-related content. Share your views, ideas, photos, and more – you can spread the word through the Amelia Island Living Social Network and socialize with other network members on this hyper-local network.

LEARN ABOUT RSS FEEDS

RSS FEED Symbol
Not sure exactly what an RSS feed is?  Look for the orange RSS symbol (pictured left) -- it's the universal symbol for RSS feeds around the globe.  When you see it, just click to see the RSS feed and subscribe.  (Look in the right sidebar of this eMagazine page now, and you'll see the RSS feed symbol where you can click to subscribe to Amelia Island Living's RSS feed of eMagazine articles).

Basically, RSS feeds enable people to receive the content they want from various web sites daily, whenever content on favorite websites update with new information. You subscribe to the RSS feeds you want, the RSS feed automatically sends the updated content to your personal computer, into the feed reader of your choice. Your internet browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) has RSS reader capability. The Google feed reader is also one of the most popular feed readers, but there are loads of RSS feed readers available. Getting RSS feeds is the latest technology and another option, rather than getting an eMailed eNewsletter in your mailbox.   It's a time saver!

Some people would rather set up their RSS feed reader on their computer to get the news they want from various web sites they like to visit, to save lots of time, and automatically get updates they can instantly access on their computer. Once you set up your favorite web site's feeds, you don't have to visit each web site separately to see the latest news – you get the most recent news fed to your computer's RSS feed reader from your favorite web sites and news sources.

Most blogs now have RSS feeds, most news sources (newspapers, TV and cable news stations, magazines, and basically all top web sites on the internet are distributing their online content via RSS feeds).  People can subscribe to the Amelia Island Living's eMagazine articles via RSS feed to a feed reader (or receive the RSS feed in an eMail box – we now offer two choices of eMagazine content distribution).
