The sun came out, reflecting off gleaming chrome on vintage cars along the fairway at the Golf Club of Amelia and Ritz-Carlton hotel, for the 14th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. It was a dazzling day at the world-renowned classic auto event held on this Florida barrier island each March. 250 rare collector cars, called the “field of dreams,” made for a glamorous display along the lush green fairway by the seaside. Whether you like speed, flash, or elegance, the car of your dreams will be on Amelia Island the weekend of March 14-15, 2009 at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. To put this event into perspective, if James Bond visited Amelia Island, he'd be at the Concours (no doubt escorted by a beautiful girl). Which car would catch Bond's fancy? Amelia Island Restaurant Week Event

is pleased to announce its first-ever Restaurant Week.
The new program which runs January 25 through February 1, 2009, will offer area residents and visitors a fixed menu, including three courses and a beverage, ranging from $19 to $29. Amelia Island Holiday Season Events

The city of Fernandina Beach will hold its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony  near the historic train depot at foot of Centre Street on November 29, 2008. New this year is the first Fernandina Beach "Lighted Christmas Boat Parade" on December 13, 2008 at the habor front. Also, don't miss the Ritz-Carlton's annual Christmas Tree Lighting, held on Thanksgiving "eve" (November 26th), complete with refreshments, music and a visit from Santa, free and open to the public. Amelia Island Plantation's "Holiday Light Celebration"  features entertainment, complimentary hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies, horse and carriage rides, and Santa. For those with a
sweet tooth, enjoy treats on the "Holiday Cookie Tour,"  a walk through the common area of seven of Amelia's beautiful inn's, decked out in holiday attire.  Or tour five of Amelia Island's  private, historic homes during the museum's "Christmas on Centre,"  tour. Fall Events at Fort Clinch State Park

Fall’s weather is ideal for enjoying the outdoors and nature on
Amelia Island, with cooler temps and less folks around after the summertime peak tourism season.  What better place on Amelia Island to spend some time outdoors than Fort Clinch State Park?  Hike nature trails, take a bike ride, beachcomb, do some fishing, have a picnic lunch, and visit the historic fort.
