Looking for a farm, hayrides, corn maze, and pumpkin patch to get in the Halloween spirit? Then head to Conner’s farm in Nassau County, Florida. This year in 2011 the pattern is the Wounded Warrior Project logo (soldier carrying soldier) cut into the cornfield. For those who have never been to the farm and walked around the maze, it’s an excellent outdoor family venue, especially for those with kids under 12. Cow train, pedal carts, barnyard animals, pumpkin patch & more, food concession. Open to public on Saturdays thru Nov. 12. Like the intrigue of getting lost in a corn field in the dark? Teenagers may prefer the evening “Corn Maze Nites” (bring flashlight) and stargazing hay rides (smores optional). Flashlight Nites are Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 from 7 pm to 10pm with gates closing at 9 pm. Night admission is $5 per person for the maze only (concession stand will be open). Call Conner’s, located in Hilliard, for more info about tickets (904)-879-5453 (other days can be arranged for large groups). Also check out Conner’s website.

Amelia Community Theatre (ACT) Halloween Hoopla, October 23, 2011 featuring Halloween-themed performance at 3:30 and 6:30 pm plus game booths for the kids. The ACT Teen Troupe will present a musical performance featuring Monster Mash and Thriller songs and more. Visit the Amelia Community Theatre website or call 904-261-6749 for more info.
