Van Tours of Captivating Cumberland, America’s Wilderness Island
The “Lands and Legacies Tour” of Cumberland Island, GA departs depart daily, with vans accessing more remote areas of this wilderness island that, until now, were difficult for the public to reach. Highlights of the tour are Plum Orchard, a Carnegie mansion, the remains of Robert Stafford’s plantation, and “The Settlement,” along with a tiny church that became famous as the location of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’s wedding.

Watch a Sea Turtle Nest Excavation on Amelia Island
Like rock bands, Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch volunteers attract groupies who show up for their turtle gigs. Evening nest excavations wow crowds who gather around them. Unlike Elvis, sometimes baby sea turtles have not yet “left the building,” to the delight of the fans. Learn about sea turtles and Amelia Island’s Annual Turtle Trot 5k run/walk.
