Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance hosts many of the world's most extraordinary collector cars, hot rods, race cars, and motorcycles. Dubbed "The Field of Dreams," legends on wheels that marked milestones and astounded past generations are on display. One of the best assemblies of automotive history worldwide. Built in 1898, Plum Orchard, a Classical Revival mansion of the Carnegie family, is now part of the Cumberland Island National Seashore and maintained by the Park Service. A 2007 restoration with over $3 million in funding, has opened this magnificent mansion in the wilds of Cumberland to be toured by the public. However, tours are limited to two days per month (as of Feb. 2011).

When visiting Amelia Island, Florida a must-see attraction is Fort Clinch State Park with its civil-war era fortress overlooking the Cumberland Sound. A vast state park with extensive shoreline along both the Amelia River and Atlantic Ocean, a half-mile-long fishing pier, campgrounds, and about 1,153 acres of maritime hammock, moss-draped live oaks, and coastal grasses. The scenery is fantastic with panoramic waterfront views, massive sand dunes, preserved maritime forest, and the antiquated, historic fort itself, recognized as one of the most well-preserved 19th century forts in America.
