Amelia Island’s largest beach parks. Fernandina Beach Ocean Rescue lifeguards are back on duty weekends in May then daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend here in northeast Florida.

Oil Spill Impact to Amelia Island Beaches Negligible
Even if the oil spreads to the Atlantic Coast, the Gulf Stream is 60 miles from Amelia Island shoreline. Therefore, impact to beaches would be negligible, even in worst-case scenario.
