Miss Shrimp Festival Scholarship Pageant 2012, Fernandina Beach

The deadline for young ladies to register to compete in the Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant is April 10, 2012. An annual tradition during the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival (held the first weekend in May each year), high school level juniors and seniors are eligible to enter and must live in Nassau County, Florida.

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. (March 26, 2012) — Contestant rehearsals for the Miss Shrimp Festival 2012 Scholarship Pageant, sponsored by the Hampton Inn & Suites, Amelia Island, “Historic Harbor Front Hotel,” are now being held weekly on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 5 pm at the Bean School of Dance, 25 North 3rd Street in Fernandina Beach. Contestants will be accepted until April 10, 2012 and are requested to bring the completed application and participation agreement to your first rehearsal.

The pageant winner will be awarded a $1,000 Scholarship during the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival on Friday evening, May 4, 2012. The pageant is open to high school level juniors and seniors attending public, private, alternative or home schools. Eligible participants must reside in Nassau County, but may attend high school in another county. The 4-part application packet may be downloaded from www.shrimpfestival.com.
