You won’t be able to help yourself but chuckle at the tribulations of 11-year-old Karen, determined to enter the 4-H Club baking contest. This young baker is known today as a successful Amelia Island caterer who has catered many of island’s most prestigious events over the years, including the Jazz Festival, the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, and many public, non-profit, and private events.

The stories and recipes are drawn from Miller’s childhood in New England, her life in northeast Florida, and her wealth of catering experience. From the professional caterer, you’ll learn the key to making the perfect quiche, and how to make genuine Southern sweet tea. You will love cooking with Karen.

Miller is a regular contributor to the Amelia Islander Magazine, and she writes the monthly Eating Scene column. She writes for Jacksonville Magazine, and works as a cookbook editor. When not writing and making deadlines, Miller bakes an array of pies for sale at the Fernandina Beach Market Place.
