Special Classes Offered by Nassau County Extension

February 7 & 14, 2015 – Crash Course on NE Florida Gardening

Rebecca Jordi, County Extension Director/Nassau Horticulture Agent, will conduct a two-day seminar covering topics on proper landscape practices and plants for our Northeast Florida area. The classes will be held on February 7 and February 14, from 9 am until noon at the Yulee Extension office. Newcomers and those new to gardening will gain much-needed information for their home landscapes. Registration and payment of $50 per person/$75 per couple (one book will be provided per couple) must be completed by Friday, February 6. Please make checks to Nassau County Extension. Bluebird Class, Make & Take House

(February 25th is the registration deadline for this Landscape Matters Bluebird class to be held on March 4, 2015).
On Saturday, Mar 4, 2015 Rebecca Jordi will conduct a class on attracting bluebirds to your yard. The class will include a “make & take” session and attendees will leave with their own Bluebird house. Pre-registration is required, by February 25, the fee is $20. February 2015’s Free Gardening Clinics

February 2, 2015 – Plant Clinic

Rebecca Jordi, County Extension Director/Horticulture Extension Agent will conduct a Plant Clinic from 10 am until 2 pm at the Yulee Extension Office (A1A and Pages Dairy Road). All Nassau County residents are invited to bring plant samples showing problems in their landscapes. Problems will be identified and solutions offered for correction. February 4, 2015 – Landscape Matters: Roses

On February 11 from 10 am until 11 am, Nassau County Master Gardener Carol Ann Atwood will conduct a hands-on Landscape Matters Rose class beginning in the conference room of the James S. Page Government Center. The class will include a pruning demonstration, and discussion of diseases, remedies, irrigation, varieties, colors, fertilizers, arrangements, when to cut for arrangements, conditions for success, different grades, knock outs vs Hybrid teas, how to plant, and soil amendments.
