NFLT’s Efforts To Save Land From Development

North Florida Land Trust’s “Amelia Forever” Initiative

Learn about the North Florida Land Trust’s mission to acquire and preserve more land, both on and near Amelia Island, and elsewhere around northeast Florida.

Watch the short, two-and-a-half-minute “Amelia Forever” video below by the NFLT about land parcels that have been saved in recent times.

According to the NFLT, “only 7% of Nassau County land has been preserved…the average Florida county has 29% of land preserved.”

NFLT is funded largely by private and corporate contributions and works closely with willing landowners and public agencies at all levels of government, not-for-profit partners, and foundations.

“We have so much development pressure on this island that we have got to fight to save the wild spaces…”
