With its latest extension, the mask mandate within the city of Fernandina Beach has been ongoing for six months.
Florida began Phase 3 of its pandemic recovery plan as of September 25, 2020. Businesses can operate at 100% capacity, including restaurants, bars and movie theaters.
With two jurisdictions on Amelia Island, masks are mandated inside businesses within Fernandina’s city limits, while “strongly encouraged” elsewhere on the island.
The overall trend of event cancellations continues through year end 2020. However, downtown Fernandina will glow with holiday cheer, illuminated with lights.
