New signs decorated the storefront windows of two businesses on Centre Street in Fernandina Beach this past week. Fernandina General Store and Indigo Alley are two historic Centre Street businesses that have closed. Many small businesses are struggling to stay alive right now.
The Omni Amelia Island Plantation and the Sawgrass Marriott Resort are heading in somewhat different directions. Both are premier destinations that fell on hard times, but only the Plantation has truly regained its footing.
