Tourism officials promoted Amelia Island as a destination for those attending Jacksonville’s TaxSlayer Bowl (formerly known as the Gator Bowl) and plenty showed up. Iowa players stayed at Omni Amelia Island Plantation and practiced at Fernandina Beach High School’s football field.
